With over four years of professional instructional design experience (uniquely in the online business space) with a nontraditional background as an entrepreneur and course creator myself (and not just by creating courses on how to create courses 🤪)...

My experience includes 60+ course-related projects spanning over 40 industries in and out of the online business world, everything from marketing & sales to continuing medical education for physicians. (Sorry, mom... as close as I'm gonna get 🩺)

My journey began with my own online business helping entrepreneurs with money management. While creating courses for my audience, I discovered a passion for the course creation process itself. This led me to freelance with other course creators before taking a formal instructional design role at an agency, where I spent the next four years refining my skills across dozens of different educational projects for online business owners.

Now, I'd like to help you with your course.

Flexibility For Different Project Needs

  • Smaller Products: For educational materials significantly smaller than a traditional course (like short challenges or single workbooks), adjusted pricing is available.

  • Standard Scope: The baseline service is designed for traditional online courses with approximately 15-30 lessons. This service does not include line-by-line content editing of all materials, creation of new course content or materials, detailed technical support, or detailed marketing/sales strategy development. I will offer my insights on these items wherever I am able and point you in the right direction, but the focus of the course audit is the overall structure and flow of your course content.

  • Expanded Scope: For extremely large courses or multiple programs, custom pricing is available. Similarly, if you are looking for a more detailed review of your lesson scripts and resources, or an expanded audit of your online course business strategy (including offer suite strategy or marketing), custom project scopes are available upon request.

How We'll Work Together

Step 1: Book Your Spot
  • Complete payment on this site to secure priority to my next available start date (no sales calls required*)
  • You'll receive an automated email with a comprehensive intake form that requests detailed about your course, ideal learner, challenges, and goals
  • Once you complete that form, you'll receive my scheduling link to book your kickoff call (and official audit start date)

*If you have questions or concerns before you're ready to pay, simply email me at hello@bykatharine.co and we'll chat! It's super casual, zero pressure.

Step 2: Kickoff Call & Material Gathering
We'll have a short 30-minute kickoff call where I can ask you some additional questions to get the context that I need for your audit. Following that call, you'll:
  • Provide me student or admin access to your course platform (your choice)
  • Share any relevant student data on completion rates or engagement
  • Submit any student feedback or surveys you've collected
  • Send any additional context we discuss on the kickoff call

As soon as I have those materials in full, your audit period officially commences!

Step 3: Analysis Period (1-2 Weeks)
Once I have all requested materials in full, the official audit period begins. Over a period of about 1-2 weeks, I will thoroughly review your materials, conduct my audit, and prepare my written and video reports for you.
Step 4: Deliverables and Support

Once your audit is complete, I will reach out via email to send you your comprehensive audit document and accompanying Loom video.

Why Loom instead of Zoom? In my experience, info dumping my findings on your during a live call always leads to information overload. Watching a recorded Loom video where you have full playback control allows you to process slowly and think about your questions. Trust me, it's always a more efficient and less overwhelming use of our time!

From here, you'll enjoy 2 weeks of email and Google Doc comment support for additional clarification and implementation guidance.

Beyond this support period, we can discuss the additional ways that I can consult on your course project if you'd like further help.

Many creators spend months on extensive revamps (that often yield minimal improvements) when strategic, targeted changes would have solved their main issues and dramatically improved their programs.

What if I haven't created my course yet?

While the Course Audit is primarily designed for existing courses and detailed outlines, I can adapt it to review your initial content structure. This can help set your course on the right track from the beginning. Depending on what you have to work with, this may involve a reduced scope from my standard audit package. What if my content is significantly smaller or larger than a traditional course?

For educational materials like short challenges or single workbooks, I offer adjusted pricing to match the reduced scope.

Absolutely! My work in instructional design included several membership programs. I'm happy to help you with auditing an existing membership platform or designing an outline for a new one.

Do you help with marketing, tech setup, or design?

This Course Audit offer is focused on instructional design and curriculum development. I can point you in the right direction for these other needs if I come across them in my audit and provide what guidance I can. If you choose to continue working with me in a larger capacity, I may be able to offer deeper insights into some of these areas, but my primary expertise is in creating effective learning experiences.

What are your refund policies?

Project deposits are refundable only prior to kickoff if you determine that you no longer want this service. However, once our project begins with that call, your fee is non-refundable. Additionally, if a scheduled kickoff is delayed beyond one month, deposits may only be partially refundable.

When you choose to trust and invest in my services, I'm deeply committed to serving you well and meeting your needs and expectations. I don't take that responsibility lightly.

However, I want to be transparent that being unhappy with the final product isn't grounds alone for a refund. The service you're investing in is the time, expertise, and dedication I pour into doing what I believe to be my absolute best work. You're in good hands!
